Structured Builders was originally established in 2014 by Colin Walsh, a Licensed and qualified Builder and NZCB Member. Steven Langerak joined the Business in 2020 as a Director having worked with Structured as a client on a number of projects. Having been friends since school the opportunity presented itself to join experience and skills to create a unique and forward thinking building company.

Born in Luton, England but now a fully fledged Kiwi, Colin is a Licensed Building Practitioner and NZCB Member with over 20 years experience in the construction industry. Colin began his building apprenticeship

back in the early 2000's which saw him working on a host of architecturally designed homes all over Auckland. 

Having qualified as a BCITO Builder and working for a number of years building homes across Auckland, Colin's career took him to London where he gained extensive experience as a Project Manager with London based 4C Developments. Colins role was to oversee large scale building projects running simultaneously; these included several Central London basement dig outs, full scale residential renovations, the redevelopment of a North London Church into a stunning family home and a celebrity refurbishment or two. 

Having worked on a vast range of projects both in London and New Zealand Colin has a keen eye for detail and is always happy to put forward ideas and suggestions to help bring your plans to life. Colin is focused on the delivery of our projects and managing our operation.

Steven has a BCOM with a double major in Accounting and Commercial Law from the University of Auckland. Soon after the completion of his degree he found his way into Executive Recruitment & HR. After 4 years working with a large multinational recruitment business Steven had the opportunity to join a colleague and decided to start their own recruitment business in 2008. Over the next 12 years the company grew to be one of the largest white collar recruitment firms in New Zealand.

In 2019 Steven and the other shareholders sold the business to a private fund and he departed the business after a handover period. During this time Steven developed skills in finance, systems, HR, leadership and generally running a business through growth - all skills that he brings to the Structured team. Steven is focused on ensuring our systems, both operational and financial allow us to deliver amazing projects and client experiences.
